Because of demand for our services, we will bid both residential and commercial jobs outside of our service coverage area.

For residential jobs outside our coverage area, we use a camera to inspect each vent before we clean it, so we only offer the Comprehensive Dryer Vent Cleaning Package.  We do not offer any discounts for these jobs and depending on the location, we use a trip charge.  While we feel our prices are still competitive relative to other professional dryer vent cleaning companies who use the same quality equipment we do, the prices of these are higher because it takes us a lot more time.

We do offer the most competitive rates in the area for commercial jobs such as apartment complexes, hospitals, laundry mats, and other commercial dryer vents.

Types of Dryer Vent Cleaning Service Providers

Professional Dryer Vent Cleaning Companies

These are professional companies that focus on Cleaning Dryer Vents.  Unlike the other types of companies and individuals that clean dryer vents, removing the lint from your vent is only part of what we do.

Professional Dryer Vent Cleaning Companies will also make sure your dryer is correctly installed and with the right dryer transition hose to maximize the air flow out of your dryer, which not only makes the dryer as efficient as possible, but also decreases future lint build-up in your dryer vent.  The results are lower utility bills and less frequent vent cleanings, which over time, saves you money.

Professional Dryer Vent Cleaners use industrial equipment to clean your dryer vents and and scientific tools to verify the vents are clean.  They will then determine how often, based on your dryer, ventilation run, and usage, your dryer vent needs to be serviced moving forward.

Some Professional Dryer Vent Cleaners will also use a brush system with a commercial grade vacuum, but these are typically not the same types of brushes that the others use.  Commercial Grade Brushes are designed to dislodge lint build up and let it escape through the brush system into a large vacuum that is running while the vent is being cleaned.

More often, Professional Dryer Vent Cleaners will use a positive air cleaning method with a reverse oscillation hose that is inserted into the termination point, outside your home, and is run through the vent to the back of your dryer.  This will blow the lint out of the vent and clean it without disconnecting your dryer.

Professional Dryer Vent Cleaning Companies will always go onto your roof to clean the lint from around the damper.  They will usually do photos before and after cleaning the vent, as well as air velocity readings.  They also have the equipment to test the back pressure of your vent from your dryer, to ensure it is a closed system throughout your home and have professional inspection cameras to inspect the entire duct run, when necessary.

Professional Dryer Vent Companies can also identify, fix, and reroute your dryer ventilation systems when necessary.

Using a Professional Dryer Vent Cleaning Company ensures that your dryer is operating safely and efficiently while creating the best optimized maintenance schedule based on your home and usage, giving you peace of mind and trustworthy advice.

Because these are professional companies, they carry insurance, they have the right equipment to prevent damages to your ventilation system, and the skills to fix defects or damage that are already present and verify the efficiency of your dryer vent system to ensure that the lint has been removed.

Companies that offer an Add-On Dryer Vent Cleaning service

These are professional companies that focus on other areas, such as carpet cleaning, solar tubes, or Handy Man services, that also offer services to clean your dryer vents at a competitive or budgeted rate.  The reason they offer the service is either to initiate a sales pitch for the primary services of their company or to add value to an overall package that includes their primary service.

Like the Budget Dryer Vent Cleaners, they typically will use a brush system and a shop vacuum.  They will usually disconnect your dryer and run a rotary brush through your vent.  They then vacuum up the lint that came out, reconnect your dryer, and move on.

Most of these companies do not go onto the roof to make sure the damper is not blocked.

If this is the option you choose, it is essential for the safety of your home that someone goes on the roof to verify that the roof vent isn’t clogged, so either ask them before you schedule, and stand outside and make sure they do this, or buy a ladder and do it yourself.

Because these are typically professional companies, they typically carry insurance, and if they damage your ventilation system, create a lint blockage on the roof and your dryer or causes a fire, you could have some limited recourse.

Because these companies are offering this as simply an add on service, they do not use scientifically proven methods to determine how often your vent needs to be cleaned and typically will recommend their services annually.

Budget Dryer Vent Cleaners

These are dryer vent cleaners who offer basic services at a budget rate, usually for under $100.  They typically will use a brush system and a shop vacuum.  The quality of their work can range greatly, but most will come into your home, disconnect your dryer and run a rotary brush through your vent.  They then vacuum up the lint that came out, reconnect your dryer, and move on.  Some will go onto the roof to make sure the damper is not blocked, but many won’t.  If this is the option you choose, it is essential for the safety of your home that someone goes on the roof to verify that the roof vent isn’t clogged, so either ask them before you schedule, and stand outside and make sure they do this, or buy a ladder and do it yourself.

Because these are typically individuals who charge a low rate, they typically do not carry any sort of insurance, often only take cash, and if they damage your ventilation system, or compact the lint into the gooseneck roof and create a situation that causes a dryer fire, you do not have any recourse.  Their services are cheaper at the onset, but the risks and liabilities are greater.

Because these Dryer Vent Cleaners do not use scientifically proven methods to determine how often your vent needs to be cleaned, they will recommend their services annually.

Professional Dryer Vent Cleaning Methods

Positive Airflow with Reverse Osculation

This is a commercial grade Air Compressor with a reverse airflow nozzle that is inserted into the Dryer Vent from the roof, spins around the duct to dislodge all the lint caked onto the sides of the vent and blow it back through the vent onto the roof.  We use a lint collection bag on the roof to catch the lint, keeping your roof relatively clean.  This hose is slowly fed into the vent from the roof all the way to the back of the dryer.

As with all equipment, there is a wide range in quality.  We did our research and use the best equipment in the industry.  Our machine puts out 30 cubic feet of airflow a minute at 175 pounds per square inch with a 30-gallon air tank which is the Golden Standard in the dryer vent cleaning industry.  The reverse osculation hose we use is a patented design that protects your dryer fan, so we can get right up to the point where lint can begin to collect.

  • The Advantages to using these methods are:
    • We do not need to disconnect your dryer from the vent to clean it, which protects your appliances, your dryer transition vent, and your floors.
    • The airflow this method uses will also stir up lint inside your dryer, which further reduces the risk of a dryer fire and helps your dryer run more efficiently.
    • It is quicker than the brush method, with helps us be more productive and keep our costs down.
  • The disadvantages to this system
    • We have less face-to-face time with you, our clients, because most of the work is done on the roof.

Negative Airflow with a Rotary Powered Commercial Brush

This is a commercial grade vacuum that will attach directly to your dryer’s transitional dryer vent that is connected to your wall with a space to insert a commercial grade brush.  The technician will then slowly use the brush to scrub the wall of your vent through the entire duct system while the vacuum pulls the lint through the duct into a reservoir.  They will then climb onto the roof and use a brush to clean the the top of the gooseneck and around the damper flap to ensure that it is operational.

  • The Advantages to using this method is that you can clean a vent from the inside of the home without climbing on the roof.  While it is essential to clean the lint from inside the gooseneck and around the damper on the roof, sometimes there are obstacles that prevent the technician from accessing this directly.   In these rare cases, there are methods that a professional can use to clean the lint from the the termination point, and the Negative Airflow with a Rotary Powered Commercial Brush should be used.  We, at Lake-Sumter Dryer Vent Cleaning will only use this method as a last resort if the Positive Air method is not possible.
  • The disadvantage to this system is that it requires the technician to move your appliances away from the wall, disconnect and then reconnect the dryer transition vent from and to the dryer.  If the company that installed your dryer used a semi-rigid transition vent, the technician will need to pull the washer back to access the back of the dryer prior to disconnecting it, which takes more time and can damage vinyl floors if the technician doesn’t have air sliders to move the appliances.  Further, any time you disconnect and reconnect a semirigid dryer vent, you risk damaging it.

Why Lake-Sumter Dryer Vent Cleaning is the Best Choice

At Lake Sumter Dryer Vent Cleaning, we use the best practices with the best equipment on the market and for less money than other professional dryer vent cleaners in the area.  In addition, we are strong advocates for our clients and have helped countless people identify dryer vent connection problems associated with new roof installations and helped them to get it fixed.

  1. We use the Positive Airflow with Reverse Osculation method.  If we cannot use this method, we also have the best commercial Negative Airflow with Commercial Brushes on the market that we can also use.
  2. We limit our service area to The Villages.  This not only decreases our drive time between jobs (which keeps our costs and prices down), but it means we are the leading experts in how the vents in The Villages are constructed.  While most professional dryer vent cleaning companies have to approach every job with a degree of uncertainty and use a camera system to visually inspect each vent prior to cleaning it to make sure it is assembled correctly, we know what materials are used to construct the vents, how they are assembled, how they are attached to the roof, and the various goosenecks that The Villages and local roofing companies use.
  3. When we find a problem with the dryer vent’s termination point of a home’s new roof, we work with you to get it resolved.  This is important because a disconnected dryer vent will blow humid air into your attic and could result in mold growth, wood rot, and serious roofing integrity issues down the road.  When possible, and at our client’s discretion, we work directly with and involve building officials in county and local government to ensure the problem is fixed before we clean the dryer vents.
  4. We are accredited by the Better Business Bureau and was recently awarded the status of SuperPro based on our quailty of services, verified google reviews, and our support of the community by House Call Pro, a leading service provider in the HVAC industry.

How the Online Scheduling works and the reason we offer a $25 discount for using it.

We have done a lot of research in The Villages that has made us the best Professional Dryer Vent Cleaning company in the area.  What our clients want is the top service available at the lowest possible price.  One way that we accomplish this is to use our online scheduling system and to offer a $25 discount.  This is only available to residents of The Villages.

When we started our business, a lot of clients wanted to call us on the phone and book an appointment with a human.  We understand, as we would like to do the same.  We looked at hiring a receptionist and the cost to provide a receptionist with an office space, and how much this would impact our prices.  After budgeting for this and accounting for both our busy season (November to May) and our slow season (April to October), we determined that the cost to do this was about $25 a job.  So, then we conducted market research and discovered that the vast majority of our customers prefferred a lower price more than a human on the phone.  So, if you want someone to call and book an appointment with you, we will return your phone call and schedule an appointment at the full price or give you a $25 discount if you choose to schedule it yourself.

When you schedule an appointment, you have 2 four-hour time blocks in a day that is available.  On the day before your appointment, we arrange the homes in geographical order and reduce our arrival window to two hours.  Please understand, this is just the window you can expect our arrival, the actual work may take longer.  We will confirm the appointment times, let you know when we are on our way, let you know when the work is complete, and solicit a review of our technicians work with text messages to your phone.

If you choose to book directly with a person on the phone, that is fine too, you just won’t receive the $25 discount.
